Auntie Joan and Uncle Gary's Wedding

We woke up surprisingly early the day of Auntie Joan and Uncle Gary's wedding... Daddy was nice enough to grab NY Bagels and Lox for all of us staying at the Soho Grande Hotel while Mommy and I ran the other way to get Wedding Cards...

We made the mistake of changing hotels from the Soho Grande to the Brooklyn Marriott, not realizing that we weren't really that far from Brooklyn - we could have just stayed put and not had to rush rush rush that morning!

We had a ginormous room at the Marriott (at least double the size of the Soho Grande!) so it was nice to have some breathing room!

They're wedding colors were yellow and black, so it was pretty clever of them to have yellow and black school buses to shuttle everyone from the hotel to the Church to the reception and back to the hotel! It was also clever of them to say the ceremony was an hour earlier than it actually was to ensure that everyone was on time! The ceremony was beautiful, brought Mommy to tears... I wanted to play more than anything, so I sat outside for some of the ceremony.


Going back on the school bus was a tricky thing... Mommy had to share a seat with a stranger (a bigger dude) and hold me at the same time - no seat belts or car seats! She also wanted me to take a nap so I wouldn't be cranky... took me a little while to fall asleep because there was so much to see and so many conversations to hear, but I finally did it! I was asleep for the beginning part of the reception, sleeping on Daddy's shoulder...

When I woke up, I was surprised to see everyone! It took a little getting used to seeing everyone, but I warmed up eventually. I loved going through Auntie Mel's purse and finding all her shiny lip gloss and lipstick! She even put some on me! We took some group pictures - men with babies and women with babies! Auntie Joan had these great centerpieces - their table numbers were years and on each side there was a picture of Auntie Joan and a picture of Uncle Gary.


I couldn't wait to dance! I was so excited to hear music, that I would just run on the dance floor anytime music played! There were a few times that I probably shouldn't have been on the dance floor (like dinner time), but nobody seemed to mind. I could stay on the dance floor all night long! I was pretty pooped out from dancing, so I didn't get to witness the adults shenanigans...Ninong JB was nice enough to hold me while I was sleeping! Thanks Ninong!

Bon Chon Chicken

After our big day, we had dinner at Bon Chon Chicken with my cousins and the Fellas and their families... I know it was totally a fluke, but I was able to pick up food with chopsticks and feed myself! woohoo!

Back on the NYC subway

Central Park

After the museum, we walked around Central Park. I got to meet my Auntie Pam, Uncle Josh and Cousin Christian! The 3 babies needed a change, so we set up stroller changing tables in the park! What a site to see! This was an exciting day because we got to share in Ninong JB and Auntie Charlie's excitement... he proposed to her while we were at the museum! She accepted! I can't wait for the 3 day wedding extravaganza!


We found a great place to take pictures - the Belvedere Castle... Have you ever seen Stepmom? I haven't, but I heard the Castle was in the movie...


We ended our Central Park walk with popsicles... yay for dairy free treats!

Museum of Natural History

I LOVED running around the Museum of Natural History! There were so many animals for me to look at and so much space to run around and try to get lost... Mommy and Daddy were running around too!

Miss Congeniality

Oh no... I'm over 2 months and a number of posts behind! I'm going to go out of order for a second before I start the mass updates! I didn' t have my camera on Saturday, and if you know me, you'll also know that if it wasn't captured on film... well... I won't remember it!

Here's a little glimpse of Addi's outgoing/congenial personality:

Saturday Lunch - Since we were more than ten minutes late for our Picture People appointment, we were put on the waiting list (which was 2 hours long!). Not to worry though, James was starving and Addi and I were a bit peckish so we decided to have lunch in the meantime. We decided on the Cheesecake Factory since it was in the same mall (that wouldn't have been my first choice...)

Anyhoo - our perky server introduced herself and described the specials of the day. Addi kept asking me "Who's that?" and I told her "She's Rachel." Addi says "Way-cho?" yes. Close enough. And then OMG - everytime Rachel passed by Addi would say "Hi Rachel!". Rachel would stop and say hello. Everytime Rachel was in Addi's periferal vision, Addi would try to get Rachel's attention by SAYING "Hi Way-cho!". Needless to say, Addi entertained Rachel and other people in our section (they were all cracking up and waving to Addi!). At the end of our meal, Rachel asked us to sit in her section next time we come! lol!

Saturday afternoon - we had our pictures taken at Picture People. If you've ever been there, or even passed by, you'll know that 95% of the clientel are kids. While we were waiting to have our pictures processed, Addi went around to each child that was waiting to say hello. She would even be all up in strollers and use her "talking to baby" voice to talk to the babies! (Her voice gets higher and happier). She managed to make a few friends. One mother commented (for me to hear) to her sulky daughter: "See how happy she is? See how she can entertain herself? And she's so much younger than you are!" What the mother doesn't understand is that she's sitting down to tell her daughter that while I'm burning off Cheesecake Factory and chase-walking Addi around as she makes her rounds. She also shared her Lego pieces with a boy who didn't want them. "Here," she says... "Share."


Saturday early evening - we went to Amado's first birthday party and sometime in the evening, a little girl was being outcasted by her "friends" and she was sitting in a corner crying. Addi and I walked up to her to see what's up. Addi says "Hi!" The little girl doesn't say anything. I asked her what's wrong and she said "Those girls are mean. They won't be friends with me." Addi says "I be your friend". The RUDE little girl says "no" and Addi starts dancing and clapping while singing "It's ok. I be your friend. It's ok. I be your friend."
Oh man. I wish I had my camera! I was trying to get James' attention while she was singing and dancing, but I got Uncle Ree-Ree's attention instead... we were cracking up at how silly Addi is!
I guess I have to stop singing things to Addi, because I'm totally rubbing off on her! But in my defense, the singing thing works - she knows how to spell her name, the months of the year and days of the week......

No more "no"

She's moved on to "I dun like it" or "I dun want it"...

I've been REALLY busy these days, but I'll definitely try to update more next week! My exam's on Saturday ~ woohoo! I'll almost have my life back! and the blog won't be two months behind!

My first time on the NYC subway!

We almost took a cab for the sake of convenience, but we took the subway just to do the NY thing!

It was a bit confusing - we had to switch trains a few times (once at Time Squares - what a zoo!) and we even got on an express when we should have taken local ~ what an experience!

Mommy and Auntie Chee-Deh made a quick shopping trip and Daddy and Ninong watched me and X... Xav and I fell asleep, so the dads hit the bar!
