Trip to the Playground

Thursday was one of those beautiful days that you feel guilty for staying inside. Mommy, Daddy and I walked to the playground. Mommy wanted to see if I could go on the swings now - they were never my fave thing at the playground.

I was holding Daddy's thumb so tight that it turned white!

We went on the big kid swing together.
"Are you sure this is ok, Daddy?"

Daddy catches me at the bottom of the toddler slide.
I'm more of a slide person than a swing person...

Let's try the big one, Daddy!

This curvy one looks like fun too!

The big slide is my fave!

Mommy and Daddy ended the playday with popsicles!

I AM NOT A TOY!!!

My mean Mommy thought it would be cute if she put me in the toy box to take pictures... I was not having it! I AM NOT A TOY!!!

blur....

The next few days are a blur...

I swear I'm getting old! and if I don't have any pictures on my camera to refresh my memory, I won't remember what happens in life AT ALL!

James is still off from work this week...

Monday - We went to Stonestown Mall and ate lunch at Olive Garden - we learned that it's Endless Pasta Bowl time! Too much pasta for lunch... We drove around the city looking at interesting developments. No Monday Night Dinner tonight, but we picked up Grandma and Grandpa at the airport.

Tuesday - I think this was a chore day. yawn!

Wednesday - Addison's 15 month appointment. She is now 32 inches long and in the 75th-90th percentile(we still need to verify this because we think the nurse measured her incorrectly - I think she's more like 31 inches long) and 19 lbs 2 ounces (in the 5th percentile). You'd never guess she was this small from her belly size!

Addi was apprehensive for the very first time. I think she's starting to remember/learn what happens at the Doctors office. So when the assistant (the one who usually gives the shots) walked in the room to measure and weigh her, Addison started to cry! Yikes! Our normally friendly Addi was really hesitant to let the assistant touch her! Doctor visit - Addison is growing fine. She's a really active girl and she eats normally (sometimes she's an oinker!) so Addi's weight isn't an issue. When it was time for Addison's shots, the first one didn't bother her at all, but she yelped for the second one! Oh boy!

We went from the doctor's to the diagnostics place for Addison's allergy test. More shots! Another needle for her blood test - James sat down and held our wiggly, protesting Addison who was screaming because she knew what was coming... a single needle prick makes her scream for a very short period of time, but a 60 second blood test totally annoyed her!

Ray and Chee-Deh offered to watch Addi for a few hours while we met with our photographer. Apparently, it took a little while for Addi to warm up to Ray (we've been teasing him a lot about it lately!). Addi learned to point to Chee-Deh's pregnant belly and say "baby" (or beebee, as Addi pronounces it). We ended the night with Addi, Ray and James falling asleep on the floor together!

... just another day in the 'ville!

Auntie Chee-Deh and Ninong Ray's baby shower

On August 17, we had a baby shower for Auntie Chee-Deh and Ninong Ray at Ninong JB's house. It was a beautiful hot day and there were a lot of people over and lots of yummy food. There was limited seating, so most of us had to sit on the floor while we ate. Ninong Ray said it looked like a refugee camp! hahaha! There was a lot of competitive spirit in the air as the adults played baby shower games and baby Cranium. It was a great day!

The grill master hard at work!

Auntie Reyna and I watch Gabriel do a handstand.

Uncle Glenn may have won the diaper lottery, but I won this fabulous arm chair!

It's great for watching TV with Daddy!

Begging for food...

It's Marie again...

I'm still behind, but I promise I'll catch up in the next two days *fingers crossed*

So James was out for the day celebrating Josh's birthday (Aug 16) and Addi and I were left to our own devices.

Since I didn't have to cook (I use James' absences as excuses not to cook!), we went out to eat. I guess Addi was pretty hungry because as we were walking to our table, Addi strayed to the side and walked up to a table and opened her mouth WIDE and said "Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh"... begging for food. The girls at this table laughed and said she was cute... Of course, I grabbed her and apologized for my little begger. We continued to walk and she went up to the next table and did the same thing - this time the girl PUT A PIECE OF CHICKEN CLOSE TO HER FACE... I told the girl to take that away from her - Addi will actually eat it...

What can I say? My girl has no shame. She must get that from Ninang Joy!
