My surprise shower in Toronto

Wow! I feel so special!

On May 6, my mommy's friends and family had a baby shower for me in Toronto... even though I wasn't there!

There was a big picture of me and mommy (wearing her lil' stinker t-shirt) surrounded by lots of gifts for me and a yummy cake!
Grandma Syl came to SFO airport with a BIG box of goodies for me and a video for mommy and daddy to watch while opening the presents! Daddy video taped the opening of the gifts, but mommy deleted the video by accident (Boy, was she upset!)... Mommy wore her lil' stinker shirt, just like the one in the picture (only this time it was much, much tighter!) It was really funny to watch the video since Auntie Joy sat behind mommy's picture and pretended to open the presents... all she could say was "wowww... nice wrapping". Mommy laughed the whole time!


I want to thank everyone for coming to my baby shower and for all your beautiful and thoughtful gifts! Mommy and Daddy were REALLY surprised that there was a shower in Toronto! Mommy was especially surprised that Grandma Syl didn't leak the surprise!

Mommy is still waiting for pictures from Auntie Rach so she can post them (ehem... that's why this blog entry is so late, I just decided to post an entry anyways)

My first doctor's appointment

I had my first doctor's appointment today!


Daddy is putting me in the car seat!
Soon he will be a pro!






When we got there the nurse called out "Isaac Addison"... I guess I don't look like a girl yet. At least I won't have this problem for too long! (Sometimes people still call daddy "Isaac James")

I now weigh 7lbs 2oz! When I left the hospital I weighed 6lbs 15oz... I'm definitely getting enough to eat!

The doctor folded my legs and it made me fart! Excuse me!

I also pooped twice during the check up...

Addison was born on May 24th at 6:50pm, she's a girl and weighed in at 7 lbs 60z.

Lil' Stinker has arrived!!

I'm a girl!!

My name is Addison Sylyn and I was born on May 24th, 2007 at 6:50 pm.



I weighed 7 lbs. 6 oz. and measured 20 in. at birth.
Both my Lolas (Lola Syl and Lola Lyn) were super happy, especially that I'm a girl, and are already spoiling me with daily shopping sprees!

On May 6, Auntie La hosted a baby shower at her house. It was such a beautiful hot day and mommy had to sweat it out!

My baby shower BBQ - April 29 continued

The Amazing Race!

Some of the big kids got to play the Amazing Baby Race! It's like the TV show, but the challenges were baby related. The teams were Maurice and La, Paul and Allison, Ying and Brian, Misa and Paul, and Allister and Kim.

Route Info

The teams had to crawl to the first route marker!

Sorry if anyone got grass stains on their pants!

International Baby Names Quiz

The teams had to fill out quiz sheets and guess what language the baby names were.

ROAD BLOCK

"A Roadblock is a task that only one team member may perform"
Each team had to choose a player who would perform the task with the following clue:

"Who's got an appetite?"

The players were able to pick their poison:
split pea, apples and chicken, or sweet potato and chicken.

"Shovelling" was allowed this time!

After the task is successfully completed, they received their next clue.

DETOUR

"a Detour is a choice between two tasks, each with its own pros and cons."
Each team had to choose which detour to perform:

BURP THE BABY

Team member A must feed team member B a bottle of coke.
Team member A must burp Team member B five times.

Kim and Allister were the only ones who chose to perform this task!

CHANGE THE BABY

Team member A must diaper and clothe Team member B.
Team member B must lie down on their back the entire time.

The end was a foot race between Maurice & La and Allister & Kim...
Who got there first? Nobody knows... There should have been a tie breaker, but Maurice and La were gracious enough to step down and hand the prize over to Allister and Kim!

My baby shower BBQ - April 29

(This is my mommy and AJ... she didn't get to take a picture with daddy today)

It was such a beautiful day! It wasn't as hot as yesterday, so everyone was nice and comfortable.

Daddy started the BBQ a little late, but that's ok... because most people know that when Daddy says noon, he really means 1:30. (Except for Ron and Paul!... They'll learn soon enough!)

There was a lot of yummy food! Thank you everyone for sharing your special treats!

We had fun games for the kiddies and big kids too!

Don't Break Your Water!

The little kids and the big kids (including daddy) played this game. You have to race to the finish line with a water balloon in between your legs. It was even tougher because daddy hid the water balloons in the ice cooler! Imagine having a freezing cold water balloon in between your legs! Yikes!

Chug a lug

The players had to drink 4 ounces of beer (of their choice, of course) from a baby bottle. This was a lot harder than they thought it would be!

The winner was Paul, who's bottle nipple became inverted somehow... if that's not talent, I don't know what is!

Baby Food Eating Contest

The players had to wear bibs and eat with baby spoons... There were "yummy" flavours like apple sauce, banana supreme and apple, mango & kiwi. The big kids actually thought these flavours were gross!

The winner was Rich, who devoured his baby food! Ryan yelled out "you win" after taking one spoonful of his baby food! haha!

Don't drop your baby!

The kids got to decorate their "baby" eggs (a few of them actually... each kid broke their first egg!)

Then they raced to the finish line while carrying their baby on a spoon!

Poor Aisley! She had to start a few paces behind everyone else because she's so good at these games!

Pass the baby

Basically the water balloon toss.

Somehow AJ and Chloe won, even though it seemed like they were playing dodge the water balloon... but their balloon didn't break!

They won sponge bob cameras and were sure to use all the film by the end of the BBQ!

Pin the Pacifier on the Baby

The older kids figured out how to feel the pacifiers that were already pinned to the baby...

My baby shower - April 28

On April 28, my grandma Lynn hosted a baby shower! The theme was Cinco de Mayo... we had all kinds of yummy Mexican goodies!


We played games like Sing a song for baby - people had such a hard time thinking of songs with the word "baby" in it! "Baby love, my baby love..."

Old Wives tale quiz

Everyone is guessing if the old wives tale predicts it will be a girl or a boy...

Ex. The mother-to-be has a belly that looks like a basketball.
Boy or Girl?



We also played a Price is Right game and a memory game. These games were really easy for the mommies!

Measure Mommy's tummy

Players had to guess how many pieces of toilet paper would fit around my mommy's tummy... There was a 3-way tie!

The tie breaker was to guess how many pieces of toilet paper would fit around my daddy's tummy. Nobody guessed it right this time... another tie!

We still don't know how many pieces will fit around daddy's tummy!

My Chubby lil cheeks

This is me!

This 3d ultrasound picture was taken on April 12, 2007... I was a little more cooperative this time... Mommy and Daddy were a little worried I wouldn't be because it wasn't until the last 5 minutes that I decided to show my face! I sure showed them-I posed a little by putting my hand under my chin and I flashed a quick smile!

I bet you can't wait to pinch my chubby cheeks!
