Valentine's Day 2009

Happy Valentine's Day!
Mommy and Daddy don't really celebrate Valentine's day as a romantic holiday, but we celebrate it all together as a family!

Mommy and Daddy made a deal the night before - if he got stay out all night (until 8am) to play poker, we could all go to the mall together... little did he know that we would get to go to two malls!

The first mall - Daddy and I played while Mommy did errands... she passed by the play area to find me going down the slide!

We rode down with the Vargas'!  I eventually followed Xavier's lead and took a brief nap...

I got to ride this cool thing...
I loved steering my wheel like they do in the movies!

We enjoyed a nice messy dinner at CrawDaddy's!
...where Medium is HOT!

Don't you love the bibs?!?

Hey!  Where's my bib?!?

Stickers on the Mirror

We got these awesome stickers in the mail one day... actually, they were personalized labels for our DVDs. Mommy kept them up high for the longest time, but I finally got my little hands on these beautiful stickers! I decided to decorate the hall mirror with these beautiful labels...

I can peel them off myself! I don't need any help!

This one would look good ... right.... there.

I was only going to do a few, but then I decided to put ALL of them on the mirror!

later... while I was napping...

....

....

Mommy tried to take them off... no luck - these were super labels that were supposed to stay on your DVDs for a very long time.

Mommy tried peeling it, no luck.

Online research pointed her towards... PEANUT BUTTER.
(It's the most kid-friendly solution AND with the PB scare, I needed to get rid of the stuff!)

It didn't work at first, but I had to leave it on for like 10 hours before the adhesive would come off...
LESSON LEARNED!
No more stickers on mirrors!

Lifts

I love playing with Mommy and Daddy! I especially love it when they throw me up in the air or lift me up! It's the best thing in the world!

I'm standing on Mommy's shoulder... can you see her hair?

So much fun!

I can see everything from up here!

Daddy makes me laugh!

I love 'em!

Soda Springs

Soda Springs is the first Ski Resort to open in California. We never would have heard of it if the people at Sugar Mountain didn't direct us to there! It has this awesome outdoor playarea called "Planet Kids". It's perfect for toddlers (who don't ski/snowboard) and they have ski/snowboard lessons too! We looked on the 'net for kid-friendly resorts and it looked like most ski resorts just offer ski/snowboard lessons for older kids or indoor playarea/babysitting services.

The best part is....they're expanding the kids area next year! I can't wait to go back!

Who's that masked ski person?!?
It's Auntie Charlie!

Ninong JB puts on my Planet Kids tag.

Ninong JB and I are having fun at Soda Springs!

Auntie Charlie and I wait for Daddy.

I'm waiting for the Sleigh Ride!

Mommy tries to warm me up in her arms...

The Tube Carousel!

Sounds like Mommy's having more fun than I am!

My orange tube... it matches Daddy's jacket!

WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
again?

My first time tubing! Mommy tries to stop me with her foot and I pop out of the tube! Oops!

Daddy knows better and doesn't stop the tube...

Daddy spins me around... I loved it, but I think he was dizzy...

Daddy pulls me up!

Getting ready to go down again!

This is fun!

Can I stand up while going down the hill?

We were going to try skiing (They have ski boots that fit me! YAY!), but as soon as I saw the tube carousel, I knew that's where I wanted to go... I kept saying "tube, tube, tube", while we were trying to get my ski boots. I thought it would be the perfect place to take a nap...

I fell asleep on the tube carousel!

I totally passed out on the tube carousel!

I'm pooped!

We spotted Daddy!

Ninong JB and Daddy on the lift.
Can you see them?

We're definitely going back here someday!

Bye Bye Northstar!

We were going to hang out at Northstar a little longer, but Ninong JB found another ski resort that had an area for kids that don't ski/snowboard.

We couldn't leave without taking some pictures first!

My Daddy is silly!

I'm flying!

Bye Bye Northstar!

Auntie Charlie's scarf

I think it looks better on me... ;)

Dinner in Reno

Since we were so close to Reno, we decided to drive for 30 minutes to have a nice Buffet dinner at one of the casinos.

My first time in a casino!

Auntie Charlie says this could be our Christmas Card for next year!
Mommy says... "Um... no. Not at a casino!"

We're all totally stuffed!
We should really get in the habit of taking pictures BEFORE the food comes!

Auntie Charlie and I go down the stairs... I loved holding her scarf!

Ninong and me under the Reno sign.

Posing on a stack of chips...

The famous RENO sign.
It's a good thing Ninong was driving, because Daddy probably wouldn't have stopped to take a picture here.... Even if Mommy begged and begged!

Sledding pt. 2

I took a much needed nap after our first sledding adventure. By the time I woke up, Uncle Brian and Auntie Ying were at the cabin to hang out with us. Ninong JB and Auntie Charlie followed soon after and Ninong told us about a great patch of snow with no trees or rocks to be afraid of. We were all excited to go!

We're off to a slow start...

But once we get going, Daddy doesn't want to stop!

And we didn't stop until we got to the village! To make things worse, Daddy didn't have his phone with him! Mommy and Ninong JB waited at the top for about 10-15 minutes and finally Daddy called - he borrowed someone's cell phone to tell them that we went all the way to the village!

Daddy will have to tell you this story...

Sledding!

We left the village after reading the "no sledding sign" and went back to the car to look for an area to sled. We found an area close to our cottage. Mommy didn't want to go down the hill because there were too many rocks and trees, but Daddy tricked her into going down with us a couple of times.

Here are some pictures of me and Daddy:

I am SO ready for a nap right now!

Me and Daddy in front of our cabin.

Are you REALLY going to sled down that little hill?!?

...and off he goes!

Daddy crashes on to some rocks...
OUCH!

I'm amused with Daddy... You're so silly!

Daddy waves to me from the bottom!
I guess it really is faster that way!

I know, it's pretty weak! But good enough for my first time!
