UH OH

This is what Mommy was looking forward to the least...

a tooth has erupted through my gums!

We thought I would get teeth really late, since Daddy didn't get his first tooth until he was nearly 2!

But yes... the dreadful day has come...

I'm officially teething... Daddy says soon I'll be walking, talking to boys and asking to get my belly button pierced... you said it Daddy, I didn't!

Dinner at Caffe Sport

On Wednesday night, we had dinner at Caffe Sport with Uncle Alvin, Ninong JB, Ninong Ray and Auntie Cheedeh because Alvin was in town from Irvine...

We weren't the only ones there... Rob Schneider was there with this family... Ninong JB wanted to bring me to there table and have him sign my belly... um no.

Uncle Alvin, Ninong JB and me...
Ninong Jb shows my belly ( because he wanted Rob Schneider to sign it)...
How about next time, when I'm big enough, I show your belly off to people too!

"my two dads"
don't we make a great looking family?
I make anyone a great looking family!

Me and Auntie Chee-deh...
What are my two dads doing to one another?!?

We topped the night off with gelato...

(Wedding diet? What wedding diet?!?)

Playtime with daddy!

I don't get to spend that much time with Daddy (because he gets home after 7 and my bedtime is 8), but when I do, we have sooo much fun together!

Here are some pictures of me with Daddy...

playing after mealtime

A silly video of Mommy playing with my nose!

Happy Birthday Auntie Christina

We celebrated Auntie Christina's birthday on Monday night...

We had an excellent Mexican dinner with Chile Rellenos, Fish Tacos, Eggplant pie and Drunken Chicken (I don't remember how to say it in Spanish!)... we ended the yummy dinner with a raspberry cake!

Over the Hill!
(at 27? barely!)

Ari Munding

I learned a little hand dance! Mommy is doing it with me as she records me in action!

Auntie Christina's Rockstar party

Rockstar parties are popular this year!

We celebrated Auntie Christina's 27th birthday with a Rockstar party!

Uncle Josh, Amerie and me!
Can you see the mike in my hand?
I'm ready to rock!!!

Here we are with Auntie Christina...
AJ is having so much fun with a balloon, I can't stop watching him!

we tried again, but this time nobody's looking!

AJ and his two backup singers...
forget singing! let's chew the mike cords!

I love kissing AJ's nose!
He liked it too... he kept giving me his nose to kiss all night!

Pop Star?!?
I thought this was a rock star party!

Amerie's already got a sweet tooth!

One-Handed

I'm such a show-off!

I can hold the sofa with one hand now... I'm a little too fearless for my own good...
The other day, Mommy asked Daddy if she could let me fall (a controlled fall), just so that I won't be so brave. I've tried to crawl off the bed a few times... I still don't understand that I could hurt myself!

Daddy said maybe. I don't really think mommy will do it... I'm too cute for her to let me get hurt!

Rock Band/Taco Night

On January 25, the Vargas' hosted a Rock Band/Taco Night...Of course it could only be the fanciest possible Taco Night ever, with Auntie Chee-deh as the hostess with the mostest!

The Rockstars!

Hanging out with Michelle and Mansi...

"My two dads" (it took a few drinks to get them willing to take this picture)
Look at my face... it screams "get me away from here!!!"
hahaha!

I'm 8 months old!

...I'm 8 months old already!

Can you believe it?!?
Mommy sure can't!... "8 months old" sounds so... well, OLD!

Mommy and I spent my birthday with Grandma Lyn and Grandpa Trev... We went shopping at Stoneridge (actually, Mommy pushed me around the mall... hoping I would fall back asleep - of course I didn't! there were so many things to look at!)

Then we went to Babies R Us (Daddy's favorite place! Too bad he wasn't with us... to complain!)
to find a push walker that I can use when I'm at Grandma's.

Here I am testing out my new learning walker...
Have I told you I love to cruise furniture!
Sitting is for babies!

After Babies R Us, we went to the movies...
We watched "P.S. I Love You"
Mommy really enjoyed this chick flick... she says she ALMOST cried!
I don't know what she's talking about, I slept through most of it!
and sang through the rest!

After the movies we had dinner at Mimi's...
I played with a metal spoon... and you know what that means...
RED CHEEKS!
The red cheeks could have also been from the cantaloupe.
nah... it was definitely the spoon.
NO MORE METAL SPOONS FOR ME!
I'm definitely a SILVER SPOON kinda gal!

I'm feasting on my first cantaloupe!
I wanted to hold it on my own...
I'm very grabby now... if you don't watch me, I'll grab your plate and hold it up high!
Grandma was impressed with how strong I am now!

No, this isn't a bad blush job... it's a reaction from the metal spoon.

Yay! My Daddy's home!!!

Here are some pictures from the archives...

Happy Anniversary Mommy and Daddy!

It's been a year since Mommy and Daddy got married!

can you see me? I"m hiding behind the flowers!

Down goes the Christmas tree!

What a bittersweet day...

The Chargers didn't win on Sunday, Daddy was pretty sad... but Mommy was pretty happy because she got to take down the Christmas tree! It was in really good shape, and we probably could have kept it for another 2 weeks!

I'm in the empty Christmas tree corner!
It looks a little sad now, without the Christmas tree there!

I got to take one last look at all the Christmas cards before they were put away...

Mommy and Daddy decided to keep the photo cards up because they looked so pretty in the corner!
I'm sure if you send us pictures, we'll put them up in our newly designated picture corner!
(we're running out of fridge space!)

kids say the darndest things!

This is a story about my cousin Simon (hope this is ok with you guys!)

The other day, Uncle Jason asked Simon if he would like to be a ring bearer for "Uncle James and Auntie Marie's wedding"

Simon replied "I don't want to be a ring bear... I want to be a ring ELEPHANT!"

hahaha!

We're still cracking up! (I'm giggling as I write this!)

Addison Sylyn

Mommy and Daddy wanted me to have a pretty unique name... I guess Addison isn't really unique anymore since it's #6 in the top 100 baby names for 2007! It won't be too hard for me to find my name on magnets or Christmas ornaments pretty soon!

Sylyn came from my two Grandma's:
"Syl" from my Lola Sylvia (mommy's mommy)
"Lyn" from Grandma Lynne (daddy's mommy)

Addison is pronounced A'-DE-SEN with the primary stress on the first syllable
Sylyn is pronounced SIL-LIN' with the primary stress on the second syllable... (like a window sill and like lin garden... or rhymes with chin)

I guess we should have posted this earlier to clear this up for some people... someone recently asked mommy how to pronounce my middle name... they thought it was CY-LINE... (first syllable rhymes with my and last syllable rhymes with mine)

uh... no

Go Chargers Go!

You may or may not know that Daddy is a big Chargers fan!

he's a little superstitious too... we can't take down the Christmas tree until the Chargers make it to the World Series... (just kidding... the Super Bowl... duh!)

Here I am in front of the Christmas tree... it's January 16th.

I'm swimming in Daddy's Chargers jersey!

ok. I've had enough of the picture taking already!

let's see if the tree is still green by Daddy's birthday!
