Trying to sit up!

I've been practicing my "sit ups" lately!
I can sit up while holding myself up with my hands on my legs, or my hands on my rock and stacker... but as soon as I let go, I only have about 5 seconds until I fall over!

Thanh Long

On October 26, We went to Thanh Long with Ninong Ray, Auntie Chee-deh, Auntie Carma and Ninong JB... I watched everybody eat for most of their dinner until I needed some attention!
I've been to this restaurant before, but I was still in Mommy's tummy... the Garlic Noodle breath smelled very familiar!

BUMBO Recall

Some people have contacted us to let us know about the recent BUMBO recall...

This is a link that was sent to us:

http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/prhtml08/08046.html

It states:

CPSC has received 28 reports of young children falling out of the Bumbo Baby Sitter seat, including three skull fractures, which occurred when children fell out of chairs that had been placed on tables.

Addison is ALWAYS supervised and she is NEVER placed on a raised surface.

I believe the injuries were completely due to user error because it CLEARLY says on the back of the BUMBO:

WARNING

NEVER USE ON A RAISED SURFACE
NEVER USE AS A CAR SEAT OR BATH SEAT
DESIGNED FOR FLOOR LEVEL USE ONLY
NEVER LEAVE YOUR BABY UNATTENDED AS THE SEAT IS NOT DESIGNED TO BE TOTALLY RESTRICTIVE AND MAY NOT PREVENT RELEASE OF YOUR BABY IN THE EVENT OF VIGOROUS MOVEMENT

The recall states that the manufacturers will send an additional warning sticker if you contact them...
They're not actually asking users to send it back...

We love the Bumbo - it helps Addison sit up and look around instead of me having to hold her 24/7 or having her lay on her back.

James and I have decided to continue to correctly use the Bumbo for as long as Addison will sit in it!

We'd like to thank everyone for their concern...

To other parents - make sure you use the Bumbo as instructed!

I'm 5 months old!

On October 24, I turned 5 months old!
Time flies!

This morning, Mommy and I went to Storytime at the library... I was hoping to meet other babies around my age, but they were much older... all were sitting up and most were already walking! I didn't mind sitting on Mommy's lap though... we had fun singing songs and listening to stories.

Here are a few cute pictures of me!

I'm playing with my blocks... sometimes when I can't reach them with my hands, I'll try with my feet... but I usually kick them farther away from me!
I'll still try and try to get them though!

Here I am on the couch...
I can sit for a longer period of time now without falling over!

My buddy Geopree... why did you have to leave me last Friday?
Oh ya... it's because I was dangling you off my stroller...
my bad!

It looks like I'm struggling to do push ups!
Mommy put the remote here so you could have a frame of reference to my size.

Happy birthday to me!

I'm going to be 5 months old!

On October 22, we celebrated my 5 month birthday (October 24). For Monday Night Dinner, we had Turkey soup, Enchiladas, Tostadas and Rosemary Chicken encroute. (Well, the grown-ups did, anyways) and cheesecake for dessert!

"You've outdone yourself again" Grandma!

Uncle Josh lights my 5 candles for me...
One candle for each month!

It looks like there are only 4 candles, but there are 5!

I watch Daddy as he and Grandma Lyn blow out my candles for me!

One of my new outfits!

Another new outfit... cute isn't it?

Do I look more like a girl now?
At least this headband isn't itchy like most headbands are!

The Pumpkin Patch

On October 21, I had my very first visit to the Pumpkin Patch. I met up with my cousins Emily and Isaac at Ardenwood's Perry Farm.

It was a beautiful day... much warmer than we anticipated... Here are some pictures!

Here we are on the shady side of the haystack.
Daddy had to make sure that cousin Emily didn't fall!

Here I am with my cousins Isaac and Emily.
Isaac was using the pumpkin as a drum!

He was like the little drummer boy!

Looks like I wasn't very interested in the little pumpkins!

Daddy looks way more interested than I do!

I'm the ghost, Emily is the scarecrow and Isaac is Frankenstein!

The sunset was beautiful, but the shadows it caused weren't!
We made do...

I'm trying to escape!

It was really hard to get the three of us in the same photo...
well, hard for Isaac and Emily... I was confined to my Bumbo!

Me and a $42 pumpkin...
This woulda been 42, 000 yen in Japan!
Maybe I'm exaggerating a little...

Trying to escape again...
sidenote to those of you concerned: Mommy always has me in my Bumbo on a flat surface (it's always the floor)... She's also a little paranoid that I will eventually escape my Bumbo, so I'm always surrounded by pillows... if I get out, at least it'll be a little cushy!

You caught me smiling!
Don't I look cute in my overalls? Thanks Auntie Misa!

We definitely shouldn't have been in here, but who could resist a cute photo op!
Nobody could get us all to look at the camera at the same time though...
These mini pumpkins we pretty interesting!

I'm surrounded by them!

Mommy and me at the pumpkin patch...

You can't really tell, but if you look closely, you'll see that I'm sitting on a giant pumpkin!
Mommy doesn't remember how much it weighs and Daddy's standing in front of the sign.

More mini things we shouldn't be sitting in!

Our family photo...
We're THIS tall!
Too bad I can't stand yet, then you could see how tall I am!

Emily's trying to read!
... and I'm watching her!

Look out world!
Here I come!

My newest party trick...

I can take my socks off with my teeth!

I better do it while I can, because if my feet will smell anything like my daddy's (haha!), I'll never want to do it again!

'Til Next time Ninang Joy

October 20 was the last day of Ninang Joy's trip.
I had a lot of fun shopping with you Ninang!
Next time I see you, I'm sure I'll be running all over the place!

Ninang Joy, Mommy and me at the airport.

Geopree...

Boy oh boy...

I think I'm going to let Mommy tell you this story!

Joy and I were shopping at Macy's and I needed to feed Addison. So we split up and decided to meet later. After I fed Addison, I walked around Macy's - checking out the shoes, accessories and basically the first floor. I meet Joy outside of Macy's - I look up and I see her on the second floor (looking down at us). I look down to see how Addi's doing and I think to myself...
"Something's different..."
...
...
...
"Ohmigod... GEOPREE'S MISSING!!!"

Some things you need to understand:
1. Geopree is always with us
2. We "forgot" Geopree the day before (His horns were pretty crunchy and I wanted to wash him) and Addison cried every time we were in the car... ask Joy.
3. GEOPREE IS ALWAYS WITH US

I didn't want to be one of those mom's ... one of those mom's who are frantically searching for a lost lovey on EBAY and willing to pay anything for a replica... I didn't realize Addi would become so attached to this thing.

I shoulda taken Kathy Chang's advice and gotten a few back-up Geoprees...
(Note to new parents out there - Get back up lovey's)

BACK TO THE STORY...

Joy makes it down to us and I tell her the news...
"Geopree's missing"
"Oh no!"

So we both walk quickly through Macy's, following the same path that I took (Imagine "Family Circus"... we were following the dotted line)
Searching the floor, looking frantic...
I ask a saleslady "Have you seen a Giraffe?"
She says "try the shoe department"

We walk/run to the shoe department and the salesman walks up to us and asks
"Did you lose a stuffed animal?"
I scream out "YES!"
and he takes us to the counter that Geopree is casually sitting on...

I SWEAR IT WAS A "CHARIOT'S OF FIRE" MOMENT
I'm running in slow motion, then I swoop up Geopree and shake him in front of Addi...

I wasn't going to give him to her... he fell on the floor!
and she would put him straight in her mouth...

AFTER THAT ADRENALINE RUSH...

We went straight to Baby Place and asked if they had anymore Giraffes like Geopree...
I needed a Back up!
of course they didn't...

Guess I'll have to wean Addison off Geopree!

I SWEAR I'm not going to be one of those mom's on EBAY!

October 19

On October 19, we went to Los Perricos Taqueria for lunch. Ninang Joy stocked up and bought a whole bunch to freeze and take home... I guess there aren't any good Mexican Restaurants in Toronto!

We spent the afternoon and evening... shopping! (of course... that seems to be the theme of the trip... who can blame Ninang Joy, the Canadian Dollar is soaring!)

Later, Ninong JB and Daddy joined us for dinner at Macaroni Grill.
Then we hung out at Ninong JB's... Ninang Joy had to pack, so we left earlier than usual!

I'm Blowing Raspberries...
Check out the drool!

Dinner at the Robles'

We had dinner at Auntie Amie and Tito Ramil's place later that night...

Me and Auntie Amie.

Tito Ramil, me, Tita Amie, Ate Joana, and Kuya Justin.

Grandpa Frank and me... (and my belly!)

Thanks Robles family for dinner!

Fisherman's Wharf...

I know, I know...
it's a tourist trap,
but Ninang Joy and Grandpa Frank ARE tourists!

After Haight, we went to Fisherman's Wharf...
Ninang wanted In N Out for "Linner"
and we checked out the Wharf... Here are some pics

We're on the Bay Bridge...
We finally go to the City!

Me and Grandpa Frank at In N Out.

Me, Mommy and Ninang...
Behind us you can kinda see the Golden Gate Bridge!
Grandpa, Me and Mommy.
Golden Gate Bridge is in the Backdrop!

A picture with the Fisherman's Wharf sign is a must!

Sleeping me and Alcatraz!

Checking out the Cable Cars!

For those of you who know...
The BushMan TOTALLY scared Ninang Joy!
hahahaha!
