Addi says...

Another list of what Addi can say... bear with me, I might repeat words that she's been saying for a while and of course, I may forget words too!

ADDI - ah di - like a fob

BACK - bak - she'll point to her back
HEAD - 'ed - she'll point to her head
EYES - aysh - she'll poke herself in the eye
NOSE - nosh - she used to say "no", but now she added the ending
MOUTH - mawt - what a fob
SHIRT - sha t - shirt
OUCH - ouch - she'll point to what hurts

she doesn't pronounce her h's yet.
HEAVY - 'eaby - whenever she tries to carry something, but it's heavy
HUG - 'ugk - her request for a hug
HAT - 'at - hat

BATH - baht - she loves baths. yesterday she whined by the bathroom door "baht baht baht baht" until I gave her one - really, she just likes to splash in the water
SPLASH - pash - splash
TOWEL - tao wa - towel
BOAT - boht - another fobulous pronunciation
BAG -bagk - yet another fobulous pronunciation
RICE - bice - I guess she can't pronounce r's yet either
CHICKEN - tsi ken - she loves her some chicken
FISH - fsshhh - fish, as in the alive animal, not the food
BIRD - budt - yuck! she likes birds... I think they're gross
MILK - mak - rice milk (she's still dairy free!)
NO MORE - moy no - I keep trying to correct her pronunciation, but she still signs "no more" and says "moy no"

WIPES - 'ipesh - w's are tricky too
CLAP - dap - clap
WALK - ak - walk

MAGNA DOODLE - do duh - one of her toys
TURTLE - too dow - she loves her turtle bath toy and foam mat turtle
CORN POPPER - pah po - you know the toy, you had one when you were a kid too!

UNCLE - ahng ko - usually Uncle Josh, but anyone that's an older male
TITA - ti ta - usually Tita Christina, but anyone that's an older female

CLOCK - kick kock/kock - ok, we need to work on this pronunciation
DUCK - kuck/duck - we need to work on this one too
SOCK - ok - working on it

POTTY - pah ti - I've been a bit lazy about getting her to use this... mainly because she won't sit in it for a long time and I'll have to mop up little pee spots here and there... PITA!
HELLO - ah lo/ah do - she likes to pretend she's talking on the phone and she'll say hello, it's hard to get her to say hello when I actually want her to talk into the phone though.

LIGHT - ayt - she'll point to a light or light switch (she likes to turn the light on and off)
ON - on - when she turns on a light
OFF - ahpf - when she turns off a light
STOP - top - when she wants you to stop doing something

BALLOON - boon - she gets really excited when she sees balloons
BABY - bee bee - she loves babies! And anyone under 6 is a baby, including Elijah!
PILLOW - pu low - any pillow is a pu low
PIANO - ano - she loves to bang on the keys!

DIRTY - du ti - usually when something is on the ground and I don't want her to touch it - she'll point to it, look up at me and say "du ti?" yes, dirty.
CLEAN UP - ti ahp - when she sees a mess (like her toys are scattered everywhere), she'll look at me and say ti ahp, ti ahp
BAD GIRL - bagrr -just as she says "gugrr" when she does something good, she says "bagrr" when she does something bad - like climbing on the stove (pulls up with the stove handles and stands on the broiler handles)... I'm trying not to say "NO" and use other words to communicate displeasure (like dangerous, dirty, etc). I didn't want to say "bad girl", but I've said it enough for her to repeat it... and she doesn't listen. Everyday, she'll climb up the stove at least once and she'll either say "dow" or "bagrr". Then I'll have to get her down myself, scold her by telling her it's dangerous and then she'll smile with her twinkly eyes and say " 'ug" and walk over to me with her arms wide open...DARN IT! She's already learning how to butter us up!

Counting...
We're trying to teach her how to count and so far we have her counting like this:
an too bree too bree too bree too bree teh
it's a work in progress

Gesture songs that she knows (mostly)
If you're happy and you know it
Itsy Bitsy Spider
Pat A Cake
Skidamarink
Slippery Fish (sort of, just the gulp part.. she sways for the rest of the song)
It's all in your hands (from Eebee)
